TruStage™ announces Tammy Schultz as next Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing
MADISON, Wis. — TruStage, a financially strong insurance, investment and technology provider, announced today the appointment of Tammy Schultz as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Schultz is the planned successor for David Sweitzer who announced earlier this year his intention to retire at the end of 2024, following more than 30 years of service.
“We are confident that Tammy's proven leadership skills, depth of industry knowledge, and commitment to our mission and vision will drive the continued success of TruStage," said Terrance Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “She is absolutely the right person for the role, and we’re excited for her leadership as part of our executive team.”
The company also announced that Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Laurie Winger will retire at year end. Winger began her career as an intern at the company and has served in several leadership roles, including the past five years as CFO.
“All of TruStage extends a sincere thank you to Laurie and David for their leadership, friendship and contributions these past 30+ years,” said Williams. “Both Laurie and David joined the organization early in their careers, grew up in our industry and have played crucial leadership roles for TruStage. They have each made significant contributions to the success of both TruStage and the credit union movement and have helped develop the next generation of leaders. We all wish them both a very happy retirement.”
Both Winger and Sweitzer cited confidence in the future of TruStage, its strong leadership pipeline, strategy and commitment to the credit union system.
Tammy Schultz joined TruStage in 2021 as part of the acquisition of Preplanning Solutions from Assurant. Since then, she has excelled in various leadership roles within the company, including leading the Preplanning Solutions business and leading the sales organization, where she has been actively involved in the credit union system, participating in league and system partner meetings, CEO strategy round table discussions, and industry events. Schultz holds a master's degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in advertising and journalism from South Dakota State University. She is also a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (LOMA), achieved her CUDE from the National Credit Union Foundation, and serves as an advisor to the Board of the Filene Institute.
