TruStage™ names Kim Sponem to Board of Directors

MADISON, Wis. — TruStage announced today the appointment of Kim Sponem to its Board of Directors. Sponem is the President and CEO of Summit Credit Union.

Sponem brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector and is a strong advocate of the credit union system. She has been inducted into America’s Credit Union Museum, the CUES Hall of Fame, and was recently named a Power 100 Leader by In Business. She has led Summit to grow from $200 million to over $7.3 billion in assets with 275,000 members.

“Kim is a dynamic and proven leader in the financial industry and a champion of the credit union movement,” said Terrance Williams, president and CEO of TruStage. “Her commitment to the organizations she serves, her determined leadership and her expertise in the financial sector will be of great benefit as we continue our journey toward ensuring brighter financial futures are accessible to all.”

Sponem has also served on the boards of the Chicago Federal Reserve (Advisory), Corporate Central Credit Union, the Credit Union Executive Society, the World Council of Credit Union Foundation and the Credit Union National Association World Affairs and Advocacy Committees.

She is also committed to her local community, serving on the boards of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, the Oscar Rennebohm Foundation, Society Insurance, Origence Solutions and Wisconsin Physicians Service. Sponem is also a champion of local efforts like the Center for Black Excellence, the Black Business Hub, the Boys and Girls Club McKinsey Center trade school, One City Schools and Centro Hispano.

Sponem earned her bachelor’s degree in consumer science/behavior from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in business administration from Edgewood College.
